How old do I need to be to hire a vehicle?

Our minimum age to hire from us is 21 and our maximum age is 75. This is however dependant on the group you are hiring. Some groups are not available to drivers aged 21 and 22 or 70 to 75. You can find our full list in our General Terms and Conditions under Hire Restrictions.

What documents do I need to hire a vehicle?

We will need to see your full driving licence, a proof of address within the last 2 months and you will need a credit or debit card (in the driver's name) for the required deposit.

If you have a UK driving licence you must provide a share code from the DVLA website to allow access to your driver record or your National Insurance number. If you are using an international driving licence, you must provide your country of origin licence also.

If you are not a resident in the UK, you can use a booking confirmation (for hotels, b&b's, hostels) or a 'care of' proof of address for family or friends. We need to see the full driving licence for all drivers intending to drive the rental vehicle.

What is included in my rental?

Your rental comes with insurance, breakdown cover, VAT and unlimited mileage.

You will have an excess (liability) during your rental which is £1000 for cars and £1200 for vans, mpvs and premium vehicles.

Unlimited mileage is valid for rentals up to 27 days.

What are your opening hours, and can I return outside of these?

We are open 08:00 to 17:30 Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays and closed Sundays. Please check our opening hours around Bank Holidays or other special dates.

Unfortunately, you can only return during our opening hours.

Do I need to leave a deposit?

We deduct a deposit from your card on collection. This is £100 for normal vehicles and £250 for premium vehicles.

How do I change my booking?

If you would like to make a change to your reservation, you can do this by calling 01223 464045 or e-mailing

If you make an amendment to your reservation within 48 hours of collection, to a date/time beyond this, your reservation will remain liable to our 'within 48 hours cancellation policy'.

How do I cancel my booking, and will I get a refund?

You can cancel your reservation free of charge 48 hours before your rental by calling 01223 464045 or e-mailing

If you cancel within 48 hours of your pick up time, there may not be a refund. For full details please check our General Terms and Conditions under Cancellations, No Shows and Amendments. Our office must be open to make a cancellation.

Please note our mpv rentals have a no-refund cancellation policy.

Can I take my rental vehicle outside of the UK?

Depending on the location and duration of hire you may be able to take your rental abroad. You will need to contact us to discuss this rental.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We only accept payment by credit or debit card either a Visa or Mastercard. Pre-payment cards, virtual cards, recharge cards or cards where the characters are not raised are not accepted.

Whilst the booking payment does not need to be in the drivers name, please be aware the deposit does.

Can I reduce my liability during my rental?

Providing you are aged between 25 and 69, you can reduce your excess by taking our Excess Reduction. This will reduce your excess to £100 for cars and £350 for vans, mpvs and premium vehicles.
